Inter-school quiz contest

TT, Siliguri, Nov. 21: Class XI and XII students from 60 schools across north Bengal and Sikkim will take part in an inter-school quiz contest organised by Inspiria Knowledge Campus in association with The Telegraph at Matigara on Sunday.
The semi-final and final rounds of INSPIRIAQ would be held at the Inspiria Knowledge Campus at Himachal Bihar in Matigara, on the outskirts of Siliguri.
Officials of Inspiria Knowledge Campus said they had held preliminary rounds in all the 60 schools that are in the Darjeeling hills, Sikkim, Jalpaiguri and Alipurduar districts and Siliguri.
Indrajit Chatterjee, the principal of Inspiria Knowledge Campus, said: “We will give away certificates and cash prizes to the winners and the first and second runner-ups. Also, tabs, smart phones and some other goodies have been offered by our sponsors and those would be distributed among the participants of the final round.”
He added that in the semi-finals and the finals on Sunday, they were expecting a footfall of around 750.
In the preliminary rounds, 30 questions were handed over to the students. “Based on the marks scored in the written exam, top four students were selected (from each school). Quizmaster Gautam Bose would conduct the finals. In the preliminary rounds, over 7,000 students (from the 60 schools) had taken part,” Chatterjee said.
On Sunday, one team from each of the 60 schools will participate in the semi-finals. Each team will have four students.
“The top six teams will make it to the finals. The winner, first and second runner ups would be chosen on the basis of the scores,” Chatterjee said.
