Hill TMC employee union members join GJMM group
SNS, Kurseong, 9 November 2014: Several members and the general secretary of the Darjeeling Himalayan Workers Union (DHWU), affiliated to the Trinamul Congress’ employee union, INTTCU, have resigned and re-joined the Janmukti Asthai Karmachari Sangathan (JAKS), a frontal wing of the Gorkha Jan Mukti Morcha (GJMM).
The JAKS, Kurseong sub-division committee, today held a meeting here to discuss the present situation of their organization and to welcome the new entrants, including Binanjay Gurung, the DHWU general secretary.
Talking to reporters, JAKS Kurseong committee president, Udai Waiba, said that for the past few weeks, a large number of people from DHWU at different places in Kurseong sub-division rejoined their organization and that such a trend is still going on.
According to him, Mr Gurung had sent a letter on 3 November to JAKS, expressing his desire to rejoin them. “He mentions that he left our organization due to misunderstanding. After discussing the matter, we have included him under our fold and handed him the organization’s flag,” Mr Waiba said.
