SNS, Kurseong, 14 November: Chief of the Gorkhaland Territorial Administration, Bimal Gurung, today laid the foundation stone for a ‘Nepali Academy’ at Daali, around 6 km from Darjeeling town.
The 4.14 acres of land on which the academy will be built has been donated by family members of one NC Goenka, it is learnt.
A four-storey building will be constructed there, where several departments like auditorium and library will be built. Two big statues of eminent personalities will also be erected on the outside of the building.
In the meantime, Mr Gurung said that a huge glass house will be installed at the Nightingale shrubbery park in Darjeeling.
