Stolen pistol recovered, three arrested
KalimNews, Kalimpong, 03 August 2014: A licensed pistol of Udai Kumar Kumai was recovered by Kalimpong Police in no time.
The.032 pistol stolen yesterday from Kumai's residence situated at B.L Dixit Road was recovered from the house of Pranay Tamang of Lamini Gaon. Yesterday Kumai had left for Siliguri in the morning but on his return from Siliguri he found some of his belongings missing from his Steel Almirah.
On enquiry he found that some silver coins and his personal pistol were missing. Immediately the matter was informed to Kalimpong police. Police suspected Abhisekh Adhikari, son of the house maid of Kumai.It was reported that Abhisekh with his friends had visited the house in the absence of Kumai.
On interrogation Abhisekh confessed that the arms was kept by his friend Pranay Tamang. Police raided the house athe arms was recovered and Pranay along with Abhisekh was arrested. Police also arrested Yusuf Lepcha for helping the duo. The trio are arrested under section 457 and 380 IPC and produced before the court of ACJM and denied bail and are in judicial custody.Kumai is the president of Dukha Niwarak Sammelan Kalimpong.
