Multidisciplinary expert team takes stock of encephalitis deaths
On Sunday, eminent cardiologist Dr Subrata Maitra, Chairman of multi-disciplinary expert group, led an 11- member team visited the NBMC&H and met the patients to find out their problems and complaints.
Dr. Maitra said the state government was committed to the provision of quality healthcare. With a view to ensure this through the various public sector facilities at the secondary and tertiary levels, the government had decided to set up a multi-disciplinary expert group. The expert team toured the NBMC&H campus and took note of the facilities and other required infrastructure.
The expert group consisted of Dr. Subrata Maitra Chairman of multi-disciplinary expert group, Dr. Tridib Banerjee, Chairman of High Level Task Force (HLTF), Dr. Ratna Nag, multi-disciplinary expert group member, Dr. Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar, multi-disciplinary expert group member, Dr. Rudranath Bhattacharya multi-disciplinary expert group member, Dr. Abhirup Sarkar, Professor ISI, Dr Sugato Marjit, RBI Professor, Center for Studies in Social Sciences, Kolkata, and Prof. Shekhar Chaudhuri, Director IIM, Kolkata among others.
