Siliguri Police arrest five people with various charges

EOI, Siliguri 18 May 2014: Siliguri police today arrested five people with different charges from various regions of the town. While two women and two men were arrested from the Ambari region for alleged involvement in flesh trade, another person named Gopal Ghising (43) was nabbed from the Panitanki area for suspected involvement with human-trafficking racket.
Police source said a raid was conducted at the colony no. 9 under the Aambari police outpost on basis of information availed from secret sources. Two women who are residents of the Aambari and Fulbari regions were arrested along with two other Fulbari residents Alam and Saddam Hossain on charge of practicing flesh trade.
In the other incident Nepal resident Ghising was taken under custody with five women from Nepal with ages varying in between 21-28. The accused man had deceived the women with fake job offers and was attempting to send them to Delhi. Kharibari police sources said initial investigation reports suggest it is case of human trafficking. However, the matter is being investigated.
