Darj boy etches name in IT world
The mobile app features a number of information about tourism in Sikkim and Darjeeling with its main aim being to help people know more about the two Himalayan destinations. The application has been divided into four sections, the first section contains brief information on Darjeeling and Sikkim, the second section has information on locations, the third informs about various tourist hot-spots, while the fourth section contains a photo gallery.
The application can be downloaded free of cost and works on Windows Phone 8.1 and Windows Phone 8. The application has received more than 90 downloads for the Darjeeling app and around 70 downloads for the Sikkim app so far, according to Nabin.
Explaining the reason behind developing the app, Navin says, “When I talk with people in South India about Sikkim and Darjeeling, a majority of them do not know anything. That is when it stuck to me that I should do something to make people aware about the two places which are very dear to my heart.”
Nabin, an engineering and computer science student, is currently pursuing his Masters in Technology from VIT institute, Chennai. He is determined to make people worldwide know about the two Himalayan tourist destinations. He has not only made his parents proud, but also the entire people of Sikkim and Darjeeling by making a name for him in the IT industry.
