Modi Lashes Out At Sonia Gandhi; Tells Not To Challenge BJP’s Patriotism
The BJP leader began his north-east campaign today by first addressing a rally in Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh, after which he began addressing a series of rallies scheduled in Assam.
He lashed out at UPA chair person Sonia Gandhi who had attacked BJP’s rhetoric on nationalism and patriotism. Modi, raking up the case of Italian marines said that the UPA chairperson, whose government let the killers of poor fishermen of Kerala go back to Italy, should not challenge the patriotism of the BJP.
Modi attacked the Congress Manifesto terming it as ‘Dhoka Patra’. He stated that the issues incorporated in the Congress manifesto for 2014 elections are the same that were promised to be addressed in 2009 manifesto and asserted that UPA has failed to keep up its promises.
In Assam’s Biswananth Chairali, the BJP leader said that the state had water in abundance but still the government cannot provide water to the people. Referring to the deaths in a surrounding area, Modi said that people of the state should not remember those who do not care about them. He claimed that this is the first election in the history of India where the result are known from before and said that several parties are collaborating together just to stop Modi from coming to power.
In Arunachal Pradesh, the BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate said that the state had great amount of natural resources and scenic beauty which can not only help to boost tourism but also develop the region as a suitable location to shoot films. He also took up the matter of Nido Taniam’s death and said that Sonia did not even condole his death when she visited the state. Modi also alleged that Congress in Arunachal Pradesh had resorted to money and muscle power to buy opposition candidates, Modi urged Election Commission to take stock of the situation and act accordingly.
Attacking the Congress, Modi said that ahead of elections when people demand to know the work done by the government in its tenure, Congress is shying away from answering the questions. He asked the people to teach a lesson to Congress for their arrogance and asked the people to vote for BJP and make the lotus victorious on all the seats from the states.
As he concluded his speech, Modi urged the people to give him 60 months to fulfill their dreams and asserted that he will not let them down.
