Tamang Youth Association firm on demand

SNS, Kurseong, 20 December: The Tamang Youth Association said they are firm on their demand that Tamang Development Board if and when constituted must work directly under the state government and in no way under the GTA.

Asked to comment on the GJMM study forum leader and Darjeeling MLA, Trilok Dewan having insisted on such boards be brought under the jurisdiction of the GTA, the TWA president, Bishnu Golay said they would not be swayed by such rhetoric and would keep demanding the board be formed at the initiative of the state government.

“The GTA is a body with limited power. We do not want our board to be encumbered by such limitations,” Mr Golay added.
