JMM should announce their failure to achieve Gorkhaland: CPRM
SNS, Kurseong 20 December 2013: Slamming the GJMM for allegedly cringing before the bullying state government, the Communist Party of Revolutionary Marxists (CPRM) today said that GJMM should now formally announce that they have failed to achieve Gorkhaland and they should ensure that anyone can take forward the demand without hindrance.
Sharply reacting to Bimal Gurung having announced in Kolkata that he would resume charge as the chief executive of the GTA, the CPRM spokesperson, Govind Chettri said the GJMM seems happy wallowing in the bogs of the GTA.
“This reveals how spurious their empathy for the cause of Gorkhaland is,” he added.
He also criticised GJMM for agreeing to participate in the rural elections in the Hills that would be held for two tiers instead of the three. “They are violating the GTA Act to be in the good book of the state government that is bent on trampling upon the emotions of the people here,” he said.
Notably, a GJMM team led by Mr Gurung met the CM in Kolkata today and it was decided that Mr Gurung would take oath in a ceremony at Raj Bhawan in Kolkata on 26 December. Besides, it was also agreed that rural elections would be held for two tiers, pending Constitutional amendment to make room for three tiers.
