राजेश शर्मा, कालिमन्युज, कोलकाता 26 दिसम्वर 2013 । आज कोलकोताको राजभवनमा गोजमुमो नेता बिमल गुरुंगले पश्चिम बंगालका मुख्यमंत्री ममता ब्यानर्जी, राज्य मंत्रिमण्डल औ गोजमुमो नेताहरुको उपस्थितीमा जीटीए(गोर्खाल्याण्ड क्षेत्रिय प्रशासन)को मुख्य कार्यकारी पदमा शपथ ग्रहण गरे।
पश्चिम बंगालका राज्यपाल एम के नारायणनको अध्यक्षतामा आयोजित समारोह्मा गोजमुमो अध्यक्ष बिमल गुरुंगले राज्यपालबाट शपथ ग्रहण गरे।

बिमल गुरुङ्ले गोक्षेप्रको पमुख् कार्यकारी पदमा दोस्रो चोटी शपथ लिएपछि पहाड्को राजनैतिक मैदानमा नयाँ मोड़ आउने संकेत देखिएकोछ। गुरुंगको यू टर्नले जीटीए तर्फ फर्कने यो कदमले गोजमुमोलाई गोर्खाल्याण्ड अलग राज्यको मागबाट पछि हट्न वाध्य गराएकोछ जसलाई गोजमुमोको घुडा टेकाइ र ममता ब्यानर्जीको विजय मानिएकोछ। बिमल गुरुंगले 2007मा गोर्खाल्याण्ड्को मागलाई पुन उठाउदै पहाड्मा पुन आन्दोलनको शुरुवात गरेका थिए।

आन्दोलनको फलस्वरुप 18 जुलाई 2011मा केन्द्र, राज्य एंव गोजमुमोमाझ त्रिपक्षीय समझौता भएर जी टी ए थाप्ने सहमति भएको थियो। यसै अनुरूप बिमल गुरुंग लगायत 45 सभासदहरुले गोक्षेप्रको प्रथम चुनावमा विजयी भएर 4 अगस्त 2012मा शपथ ग्रहण गरे। तेलंगाना राज्य गठन गर्ने केंद्र सरकारको निर्णयपछि बिमल गुरुंगले पुन गोर्खाल्याण्डको माग उठाउदा 30 जुलाई 2013 मा जीटीएका मुख्य कार्यकारी पदबाट् इस्तीफा दिएका थिए ।

तर पश्चिम बंगाल सरकारले आफ्नो प्रशासनिक ताकत प्रयोग गरेर् आन्दोलन रोक्ने, गोजमुमोलाई हतोत्साहित बनाउने प्रयासमा गोजमुमोका समर्थक एंव नेताहरुलाई जेलको हावा खुवाउन लाग्यो। गोजमुमोले यस प्रकारको दबावमा यू टर्न लिन वाध्य भयो अनि पहाड़मा गोजमुमो दुर्बल हुदै जादाँ यसका नेता र समर्थकहरु भकाभक गोरामुमो तथा तृणमूलमा सामेल हुन लागे पहाड्मा अन्य राजनैतिक दलहरु सक्रिय हुनलागे यसको साथै नयाँ दलहरुको पनि उद्भव हुन लाग्यो। एकातिर पहाड्मा विकासको आवश्यक्ता अर्कोतिर 2014 ससदिय चुनावको हावाको कारण पहाड्को राजनैतिक् अवस्थामा अस्थिरता आएकोछ। राजनैतिक् परिवर्तन र हराएका पार्टीहरुको पुन उद्भव र नयाँ पार्टीहरुको जन्मले वर्तमानमा पहाड्मा कुन पार्टीको क्षमता र वर्चस्व ज्यादा हुने तथा लोकसभा चुनावमा कसले विजय हासील गर्ने र गोर्खाहरुको भविष्यबारे के हुने हो भन्ने प्रश्न उठ्न लागेकोछ ।

ENS, Kolkata, 26 December 2013: GJM president Bimal Gurung Thursday took oath as the Chief Executive of the Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA), five months after he had resigned from the post to lead the agitation for a separate Gorkhaland state.

Gurung took the oath in the presence of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, cabinet ministers and other leaders from the Gorkha community, at a function presided over by Governor M K Narayanan at the Raj Bhavan.

He today reached Raj Bhavan with GJM general secretary Roshan Giri and the acting chief executive of the GTA, Ramesh Alley.

"The Morcha would now concentrate on development projects. Our agenda is to complete all the projects, which were left midway after our president resigned (from GTA)," said Giri.

Gurung's return to GTA — the hill council which he had once said should be scrapped — is seen as a political victory for Mamata, whose tough stance on the issue of Gorkhaland, forced the GJM strongman and his outfit to shelve the statehood demand for now.

In a Facebook post later in the day, Gurung, however, said the statehood demand was very much alive and termed the GTA a "necessity".

"GTA is a necessity to empower the hill youth, create job opportunities and develop infrastructure in the region so that the proposed Gorkhaland territory does not turn into an underdeveloped region... that would destroy a generation in this period of strife and agitation," his post reads.

He said that while the GTA will prepare the region "for statehood in terms of infrastructure development", the GJM "would apply relentless political pressure on the central government for it (Gorkhaland)."

At a time when there is an outrage over the Telangana issue in Parliament, the GJM's move to accept the GTA yet again has, however, put a question mark over the Gorkhaland movement. While a group of Morcha leaders flayed Gurung's "submission", others say it is a well-thought out strategy of GJM.

"The Morcha did not want the GTA to be run by the TMC. Had Gurung not joined, the state government would have appointed one of its leaders as the chief executive of the hill council," said a senior central committee member of Morcha pleading anonymity.

Gurung had resigned from the post of GTA Chief Executive on July 30 after intensifying GJM agitation for Gorkhaland following the Centre's decision to create Telangana.

The Darjeeling hills faced intense agitation with violence being the order of the day. But police crackdown on GJM supporters and dissent among the people of the hills over regular shutdowns called by Gurung forced the Morcha to back out from the stir.
