Three killed, 13 injured in separate accidents

SNS, Gangtok, 27 November: Three persons were killed and 13 others sustained injuries in two separate accidents that occurred yesterday evening at Rothak and Zoom, West Sikkim.
The first mishap occurred at Rothak, five km from Jorethang, when a private vehicle slipped down the road around 6 p.m.
All 12 persons on the vehicle were returning home at Suldung Kamling, Rinchenpong after watching the Chief Minister’s Gold Cup finals at Jorethang.
Two of them died on the spot while other occupants were seriously injured, said Naya Bazaar police. The deceased were identified by police as Renu Ghatani and Isha Ghatani.The injured were referred to hospitals in Namchi, Gangtok and Siliguri.
They are Mr Dhan Bahadur Ghatani, Ms Sharmila Chettri, Mr Keshar Bahadur Ghatani, Ms Sharmila Alley, Mr Ajay Thapa, Mr Suhang Ghatani, Mr Ruben Chettri, Mr Krishna Ghatani, Mr Deepak Tamang and Mr Sancha Rai.
A similar accident was reported the same evening from Zoom, three km from Naya Bazaar.
One Richen Lepcha was killed while three others suffered injuries, said Naya Bazaar police.
They were coming down to Jorethang from Chakung when the accident occurred. 
The injured persons were identified as Mr Pritam Gurung, Mr Damber Gurung and Mr Sandeep Gurung, police informed.
