‘No GJAC meet on Saturday’
SNS, Kurseong, 18 October: Mounting pressure on the GJMM, already wilting from the state government’s crackdown and the Centre’s indifference, a constituent of the Gorkhaland Joint Action Committee (GJAC), CPRM said there would be no meeting of the conglomerate slated tomorrow in Darjeeling in view of the GJMM remaining unwilling to quit the GTA.
CPRM spokesperson, Mr Govind Chettri said as the GJMM is not sincere about the demand for Gorkhaland the existence of the conglomerate has become meaningless. “There will be no GJAC meeting tomorrow as it would serve no purpose, given the GJMM dithering on the issue of statehood.
They are more interested to run the GTA rather than fight all out for Gorkhaland ~ the cause to champion which we assembled under one umbrella at a critical cross road of the movement,” he added.
He further said the GJMM is staging melodrama to hoodwink the Hill people.
“Such trickery would neither befool the people nor advance the cause by an inch. Besides, they are using the GJAC to their selfish advantages. The decisions taken here unanimously are being trampled upon, reducing the GJAC to a theater of the absurd,” the CPRM leader said.
