Father and 2 daughters killed in Ambiok house fire
KalimNews, Kalimpong,18 October 2013: Kurseong, 18 October: Two little children along with their father were killed during a house fire in Ambiok Busty of Gorubathan Police station.
Saran Rai (34) and his two daughters Shradha Rai (5) and Shristi Rai (3) were sleeping inside their wood constructed house at Rai Goan of Ambiok Busty.
Sources said that at around 10 p.m. last night, three people were home when the fire started. All the three were pronounced dead at the scene of the fire which gutted the house.
When the fire brigade team from Malbazar reached the house, it was almost gutted in fire. They brought out the charred bodies of the three members of the family.
Only the mother is the sole survivor of the family of four who was in Sikkim during the incident. According to reports received the family had been to Sikkim for celebrating Dusehra.
The mother stayed back due to her illness at her parents' home in Sikkim while the father with their two daughters returned home.
The bodies have been sent today to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital at Siliguri for autopsy. The reason of the fire could not be ascertained.
