Delhi Chalo call by BGP

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 1 October 2013: To press the demand of creation a separate state Bharatiya Gorkha Parisangh has planned to gather thousands of Gorkhas in the national capital New Delhi in December. 

It will hold a demonstration in Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan from December 14 to 16 as part of its ‘Delhi Chalo’ campaign for Gorkhaland informed BGP president Dr. Enos Das Pradhan during a press meet in Kalimpong. 

Briefing about the Delhi Chalo for Gorkhaland campaign Pradhan said, “Earlier demonstrations organised in Delhi failed to make much impact as the number of demonstrators and participants were less in number so we are inviting thousands of Gorkhas belonging to all party and organisations supporting Gorkhaland.” 

"This programme is targeted to make an impact during the winter session of Parliament". Pradhan said "It will surely be a support to the Gorkhaland demand a strategy to pave the way for talks.” "We want that people of all professions including Sahitya Academy members, artists, musicians, professionals and litterateurs to participate in the demonstration and make an impact ".

He further added those willing to participate in the programme may enlist themselves in the BGP branch offices located in different areas.
