GJM waits for Centre's word on tripartite meet+

ENS, Kolkata, Sep 22 2013: The Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) is yet to hear from the Centre even as it withdrew the indefinite strike after it was assured that a tripartite meeting will be held soon to discuss the separate Gorkhaland state issue.
Earlier, GJM president Bimal Gurung had announced to go for a stronger agitation that can take a shape of " revolution" after October 20 if the Centre does not hold the tripartite meeting by then.
GJM general secretary Roshan Giri said, "We had given time to the Centre to start preparation for the tripartite meeting and which is why we had withdrawn the strike. But we are yet to get any communication from the central government. We want the tripartite meeting before October 20. If it doesn't happen by then, the movement will be revived again."
Meanwhile, the state government will hold a meeting on September 27 to elect the Gorkha Territorial Administration (GTA) chief executive.
Ever since Gurung resigned from the post on July 29, the GTA is almost defunct.
Sources said the government would run the GTA by appointing an administrator if the GJM again abstains from the GTA meeting as well as the election process.
Giri said: "The central committee would hold a meeting soon to decide on the GTA election."
