Miscreants torch van on second day of indefinite bandh

EOI, August 4, 2013: A Maxx van with number WB 3061 was burnt today in Kalimpong area allegedly by bandh supporters on the second day of the indefinite strike. 
The incident took place around 8 am at Birik Dara alongside National Highway 31A. The van was heading northwards and was torched after the passengers were asked to alight. 
The police have arrested some GJM activists in connection with obstructing government vehicles from plying in Darjeeling. 
Meanwhile, the Sikkim-Siliguri services remained open under protection of the Darjeeling police.
