Mamata gives 72 hours ultimatum to lift GJM's indefinite bandh

Breaking News: KalimNews, Kalimpong, 10 August 2013: Mamata Banerjee the Bengal Chief Minister has issued a 72 hrs ultimatum to the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha for withdrawing the indefinite strike called from 3rd August 2013.
She said "If the bandh is not lifted within 72 hours, the government would clip the wings of any leader, no matter how tall is his stature. Enough is enough."
" I cannot tolerate that the whole state is suffering due to the political interests of a few," Banerjee told media persons.
"If they do not withdraw the shutdown, then as per the court's order we will be compelled to take strong action just like when required, we have to take strong medicine," said Banerjee.
She also has said that Central agencies should not interfere in this matter.
Angered with the Chief Minister's statement Bimal Gurung President of GJM has stated that CM should withdraw her statement and the ultimatum otherwise there will be a public curfew and no one will come out of their houses and nothing will open including Offices, schools, colleges and business institutions.
“The people in the hills are on the streets. We will continue our movement in a democratic manner,” Mr. Gurung said.
“She has given a deadline of 72 hours. She will be forced to withdraw her ultimatum. The people of the hills are holding a democratic and peaceful movement, but if she tries force, then the people of the hills will give her a fitting reply,” said Mr. Gurung.
“If she feels that by issuing the ultimatum and letting loose her authoritarian rule she can bend us, then she is wrong. We are ready for it.”
In his facebook account he has said that I want the people of Darjeeling to answer the Government. Is the strike imposed on the public or is it voluntarily? I would appeal to the people of Gorkhaland to come out in numbers to support our cause for Gorkhaland. If the Government pressurizes us the pubic must show our solidarity by observing "Janta Curfew" after 72 hours.
