Ghar Bhitrai Janta on 19th and Ghar Bahira Janta from 20th to 23rd August

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 18 August 2013: The third meeting of the Gorkhaland Joint Action Committee held today decided to change the pre-announced programme. 
The meeting declared that the Ghar Bhitrai Janta will be demonstrated and observed only on the first day that is 19th August. On the rest of the days that is from 20th to 23rd August the programme will be Ghar Bhaira Janta. 
The change in the programme was to make the voice of Gorkhaland to be heard by the administration and all from 20th to 23rd August. On these four days public rallies will be organized in all parts of the GTA and Terai and Duars area. The programme of torch rally on 24th and 25th August and human chain demonstration on 26th August.
Bimal Gurung GJM President made an appeal to all the public to participate in the rallies.
In views of the order of the High Court, GJAC and GJM has tried to clarify the mode of the programme by stating that there  will not be any picketing and obstruction. People are at liberty to open their establishments and institutions but if they want Gorkhaland to be true they should voluntarily close down all establishments. 
The GJAC has called upon the people to voluntarily close down every institution and take part in the rallies. 
It has also said that the change in the pre-announced program because the Government is trying to suppress the voice of the people. 
GJAC wants to show the mandate and verdict of the people for Gorkhaland on these days.
The meeting held in Singamari was attended by all hill parties except ABGL, TMC, CPM and GNLF.
