24 hours relaxation on 31st August , Schools fate to decide on 1st Sept.

KalimNews, Kalimpong 30 AUgust 2013: The joint all party meeting held today has decided to give a day's relaxation on 31st August 2013 in the indefinite strike called by GJM and supported by GJAC. 
The meeting of Gorkhaland Joint Action Committee held in Singamari, Darjeeling has called for 2 days' people inside their homes proigramme "Ghar Bhitra Janta" on 2nd and 3rd September. 
However the meeting could not decide on the opening of the schools and colleges which probably will be effective from 4th September or so.
To decide over this a joint meeting will be held on 1st September. The concerned frontal organisations of GJM viz Gorkha Janmukti Vidhyarthi Morcha (GJVM) and Janmukti Secondary Teachers Organisation (JSTO) will sit with GJAC and heads of all institutions for this.
The relaxation of 24 hrs on 31st August will be followed by the indefinite strike on 1st September. 
It has also decided that all offices and banks will remain closed on all days unless the strike is withdrawn.
A delegation of MLAs and MPs, present and past will visit Delhi on 1st September and meet the concerned ministers of the central government to apprise about the situation of the hills.
