Hill TMC meets Ministers

PR, KalimNews, Kalimpong: A delegation of Darjeeling District Hill TMC led by Convenor Rajen Mukhia met Gautam Deb, Minister in Charge of North Bengal Development at Writers Building on 3rd July 2013 and discussed various issues of development of the Hills. The team also discussed matters including organizational expansion in the Hill and participation of Hill leaders in Dooars Panchayat Poll. 

TMC delegation included NB Khawas General Secretary, Binny Sharma Spokesperson, Gopal Chettri Member, Chewang Bhutia Youth President, Sarda Subba General Secretary of Mahila TMC, Luxmi Tamang Member of Mahila TMC. It also met Arup Biswas, Minister in charge, Housing and Youth Services and discussed about the poor quality of houses being constructed under EWS( Economically Weaker Section) and rightly selection of beneficiaries.

Delegation also met Mr Bratya Basu, MIC, Education Department and discussed about educational development of the Hill and various problems being faced by the Hill students in search of higher education. Upgradation of Darjeeling Government to a full fledged State University was also discussed in the meeting . Transparency in appointment of teachers for imparting quality education was also discussed at length. It demanded that the appointment of recent primary teachers by GTA should have been on merit basis instead of cadre based of any particular  political party.
