Circuit house inaugurated

SNS, 10th July 2013: The north Bengal development minister, Mr Gautam Deb, today inaugurated a newly constructed circuit house named “The Orchid” at Giddha Pahar in Kurseong. 
Addressing the inaugural function, the minister said that the circuit house in Kurseong was a long pending demand of the Hills people, mainly the Kurseong and its adjoining areas. He further informed that the building was constructed in a sort span of two years at the cost of Rs 3.5 crore and it will be operational within a month. He said that it will add a new dimension in the development process of Kurseong. Mr Deb also said that our government and the GTA have been working together for the overall development of the Hills. "However, Kurseong is already famous in the field of school education but we have also been working hard to establish more educational infrastructures. We are also going to establish a medical college in Kurseong and it will be the first of its kind in the Hills which will benefit the people, health and education wise. The establishment of a circuit house here in Kurseong can be utilised by both the locals and the tourists visiting Kurseong," he said. 
Meanwhile, the chief guest of the program, Mr Rohit Sharma, said the absence of the circuit house was also felt by us and today it has been fulfilled. "Hence, now onwards it is our duty to preserve and maintain the house," he said. At the same time he also urged the minister to recruit the local people in the circuit house as per their eligibility and ability. 
Mr Sarvottam Marda, architect of the circuit house, said: "The ground floor of the building consists of a reception, a 30-seat conference hall, dining, kitchen, and caretaker office and accommodation and security guards room. The first floor comprises six VIP Deluxe rooms and on the second floor there are two suite terrace rooms. The total area of the house is 13,000 sq/ft. The construction was started in January 2011. Presently, finishing touches are being given to the circuit house and it has been learnt that it will be fully operational within a month. 
However, it was learnt that so far no one has been recruited but if done so then the immediate requirement for the circuit house are a couple of guards, gardeners, cooks, helpers and room service boys.
