Indefinite stike withdrawn

DarjeelingTimes.com, Darjeeling, May 25: GJMM has withdrawn its indefinite strike slated for Sunday onwards. Stating the reasons to withdraw the bandh, Roshan Giri said, ‘the tourist season is in pick, exams are going on, Madhyamic result is about to come, moreover, we would like to conduct the Tripartite Review meeting under peaceful environment’. 
GJMM also demanded immediate release of Chandra Kumar Yonzon, GTA Sabhasad from Constituency 43 and its supporters arrested in Gorubathan on Friday. 
Police had arrested 11 GJMM supporters and GTA Sabhasad Chandra Kumar Yonzon against vandalism and violence in Gorubathan. In an incident GJMM supporters have vandalized the house of K N Subba, TMC leader and completely burnt down the house of his widow sister. CJM court has rejected the bail of Chandra Kumar Yonzon and 5 GJMM supporters who have held responsible for the incident, rest were freed on bond bail. 
However, there will be massive protest program in all Darjeeling subdivisions against the oppression and violation of Tripartite Agreement by the Bengal government. Indefinite hunger strike by the Sabhasad (elected member of GTA) and top GJMM leaders, protest rallies in all over Darjeeling hills, Pen down or works will be stopped in all the offices of GTA, have been announced by the Roshan Giri, GJMM General Secretary, after the Central committee meeting in Darjeeling today. 
The indefinite hunger strike will be held in the premises of Darjeeling district court. Top GJMM leaders such as Binay Tamang, Prakash Gurung, Norbuji Lama, Udai Dewan, Pemba Tshring Ola, Ratan Thapa and Rabin Lam, will be participated in the hunger strike slated from tomorrow. Similarly, Anus Thapa, Yogendra Rai, Pranai Thapa in Kurseong and Sunil Chandra Pradhan, Chandra Prakash Paudyal and Gopal Ruchal in Kalimpong, will take part in Hunger strike scheduled from tomorrow. In Mirik too, Arun Ghising, M K Zimba and Vikram Goley will be participating in the hunger strike.
