Roshan Giri may hold meeting in Dooars soon
Sources said the GJMM leadership was scheduled to hold a secret meeting to campaign against Kalchini MLA Wilson Champramary, after he joined the Trinamul Congress.
Though one the GJMM central committee leaders, Mr Asok Lama, said that Mr Giri was scheduled to hold a meeting at Birpara tomorrow, Birpara-based leader Madhukar Thapa was not available for comment despite several attempts over phone.
The GJMM has suffered a severe setback after Mr Champramary joined the Trinamul Congress and started campaigning against his former leaders. Since then the GJMM leadership is planning to revitalise its existing leadership and formulate strategies to campaign against Mr Champramary in the Dooars.
Another GJMM leader in the Dooars, Mr Binod Gathani, said he was not informed about the exact date for Mr Giri’s visit to Western Dooars, particularly the Mateli block where several GJMM supporters joined the Congress and the Trinamul Congress recently. Splinter ABAVP leader Sukra Munda associated with the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha and its ally ~ the GJMM ~ said: “We have got information about Mr Giri’s visit to the Dooars.
However, the date of his visit is yet to announced. At present Mr Giri is in Kolkata.” Police are keeping a close eye on the political development in the volatile multi-ethnic region to maintain peace and rule of law.
