Free Coaching to Prepare 10,000 Youth for Competitive Exams; DWS Collaborates with Physics Wallah
Digital repositories will also be set up in Darjeeling and Siliguri.
Under the initiative, more than 10,000 students from the districts of Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar and Cooch Behar will receive free coaching for 16 competitive examinations leading to government employment.
The examinations covered include Agniveer, West Bengal Police Sub-Inspector and Constable, SSB/CISF Constable, CDS, NDA, AFCAT, CAPF, SSC, WBPSC and UPSC, among others.
DWS has collaborated with Physics Wallah (PW), one of India’s leading education platforms, for this initiative.
“With the change in government, the situation is very different now. Earlier we faced a lot of obstacles, especially while trying to organise Rozgar Mela. We were denied permission for many programmes. All this has changed now. Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari has given a lot of emphasis on North Bengal and also on the Hills,” stated Harsh Vardhan Shringla.
He further stated that the programme builds upon the organisation’s earlier UPSC coaching initiatives, which have mentored over 120 candidates, several of whom have secured positions in government and public sector institutions, including the West Bengal Civil Service and the Reserve Bank of India.
Through Physics Wallah’s technology-enabled learning platform, selected candidates will receive comprehensive online coaching free of cost.
The initiative seeks to remove financial barriers that often prevent deserving students from accessing quality coaching.
They will be monitored through digital dashboards along with online mock tests.
Admissions will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis, with each candidate eligible to enrol in one course.
Following registration and Aadhaar verification, successful applicants will be granted full access to their chosen programme.
“The youth of Darjeeling and North Bengal possess immense potential but often face challenges in accessing quality opportunities. Through initiatives like DWS Utkarsh, our objective is to ensure equal opportunities and empower young aspirants to build a secure and successful future,” added the MP.
In a video message, Physics Wallah Founder and Chief Executive Officer Alakh Pandey said the organisation believes quality education should be accessible to every student irrespective of geography or economic background.

“With a unified vision, we can take this region forward. Our main task will be to keep Gen Z on the right track,” stated Noman Rai, MLA, Darjeeling.
