Tribeny shared, "I am so overwhelmed mostly because I have been trying to screen my films in this particular film festival for the past two years and finally it is happening. It is even more special because my film is getting screened along with the films of amazing women filmmakers from 17 countries across the world."
Memory of a heart is a short film of four minutes, thirty five seconds and is a tribute to her father. Earlier, the film had won the award for the best short film in Film Festival North East 2016.
26-year old Tribeny hails from Assam Lingzey, East Sikkim and has studied direction and screenplay writing at Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, Kolkata. She was the only Indian student film maker to attend the 8th VGIK Inter¬national Summer School. She has also screened her films in many national and international film festivals so far.
"This film is very close to my heart because it is a tribute to my father. Also, I solely made the film with the help of my 12-year-old niece Basudha. IAWRT Asian Women's Film Festival is perhaps the best platform to share this film with the people. It really motivates me to make more such films with all my heart and soul," she added.
Tribeny also expressed her gratitude towards her parents Late Bishnu Prasad Rai and Geeta Rai for their immense love and support.
"We only have a handful of filmmakers in the state but I am confident and hopeful that very soon it will change. I urge my younger brothers and sisters to take up filmmaking as their career because together we can tell wonderful stories of our land, of its people," said Tribeny.
