Police Bust International Cyber Scam Ring Operating Hidden Call Centre in Matigara Arresting Nine Suspects
Acting proactively on sensitive intelligence inputs, a special law enforcement team raided the premises to find the suspects deeply engaged in orchestrating elaborate tech-support and financial scams targeted at unsuspecting victims across the United States via Voice over IP (VoIP) communication channels. The detained culprits—identified as Ravi Singh, Arindam Singh Roy, Agnes Esake, Bharat Sharma, Irshad Ahmed, Shubham Sharma, Mohsin Ansari, Nalin Singh, and Rehan Khan—hail from multiple states including West Bengal, Bihar, and Rajasthan, and all of them completely failed to present any legally mandated permits, regulatory clearances, or official licenses for running their telecommunications infrastructure.
During the thorough search and seizure operation, authorities confiscated significant incriminating evidence, including seven laptops pre-loaded with standardized extortion scripts and extensive lead databases alongside twenty mobile devices and specialized hardware utilized for routing internet telephony. Initial investigative findings suggest this illicit facility managed to operate undetected for approximately half a year, utilizing pre-prepared operational scripts and specialized training to carry out fraudulent activities against foreign clients.
Furthermore, digital footprints gathered at the crime scene have pointed investigators toward a primary mastermind operating from Gujarat known by the alias "Arif Bhai," who allegedly oversaw the logistics, script distribution, and financial payouts for the entire network. Following their arrest, all nine accused were presented before the Siliguri Sub-Divisional Court on Thursday afternoon and subsequently remanded to judicial custody, while ongoing forensic examinations of the seized gadgets aim to expose the complete financial expanse of the fraudulent enterprise.
