Kolkata Police registers FIR over alleged violation of High Court conditions at TMCP meeting
The FIR was filed on Friday at the Hastings police station against Mamata as well as the organisers of the meeting of the Trinamool Chhatra Parishad (TMCP), an officer said.
"The FIR has been registered for the alleged violation of the court's order. The role of all those involved in the violation will be examined during the course of the investigation. The case was registered under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) on August 28," he said.
The case was registered after examining the conditions imposed by the court for holding the TMCP meeting at Cathedral Road in central Kolkata on Friday, the officer said.
"The FIR was based on a complaint lodged by sub-inspector Apu Baidya, posted at the Hastings police station. It was alleged that Banerjee and the organisers entered into a criminal conspiracy and, in furtherance of it, violated the High Court's order," he said.
