West Bengal to set up digital content creator labs in schools
The Directorate of School Education has directed all District Inspectors of Schools (Secondary Education) to collect details of ICT and computer laboratory infrastructure and available human resources in schools.
The Information Technology and Electronics Department requires the information to assess existing infrastructure and human resources before rolling out the programme.
Schools have been asked to submit the details through a Google Form by July 22.
According to the directive, the programme aims to expose students to the creative and digital ecosystem and promote creativity, digital literacy, storytelling, communication and other future-ready skills, while preparing them for the AVGC-XR sector, comprising animation, visual effects, gaming, comics and extended reality.
The training will be limited to students of Classes IX, X, XI and XII.
The Directorate of School Education has described the exercise as a high-priority government initiative and directed district authorities to ensure that all schools furnish the required information within the stipulated deadline.
