Girl safely brought down after climbing mobile tower in Patna district

Police said the girl climbed the tower in Patna district and was safely brought down after hours of persuasion.

PTI, July 13, 2026, Patna :  A girl climbed atop a mobile phone tower in Bihar’s Patna district on Monday, demanding to meet a boy, police said.

The incident took place in the Naubatpur police station area of Patna district.

Phulwari Sharif SDPO (2) Deepak Kumar said the girl came down after hours of persuasion.

She was taken to Naubatpur police station for further investigation, Kumar said.

He, however, did not provide more details about the girl or the incident.

Meanwhile, ‘panchayat pramukh’ (local representative) Dharamdeo Paswan told PTI “A girl from Panhara village had climbed atop the tower here in the morning. Asked about the reason, she mentioned the name of a boy from Baruna, and said she would come down only if he was called at the spot. Ultimately, the girl relented after the boy was called.”

The minor girl climbed to the top of a mobile tower in Naubatpur on Monday, insisting on marrying her boyfriend. Sitting atop the tower in the scorching heat, she demanded that her boyfriend be brought to the spot and that they be married. She warned that if her demand was not met, she would jump from the tower.

Local representative Mallu Paswan says, "We received information that a girl had climbed the tower. When we reached the spot, we saw that she was indeed on top of the tower. Administrative officials and a large crowd of people from Naubatpur and Dulhin Bazar had also gathered there."
