Chief Minister to Present First-Month Governance Initiatives and Future Development Plans
The Suvendu Adhikari government in the state is actively pushing the concept of “double-engine” governance and campaigning to promote the achievements of the Narendra Modi-led Centre.
With an objective of intensifying the campaign further, Chief Minister Adhikari on Friday will also present a comprehensive overview of the achievements of the Central government over the past 12 years.
The Adhikari-led government has already completed its first month in office.
The first 30 days of the Adhikari government have been marked by a series of administrative decisions, policy announcements and infrastructure overhauling initiatives.
After becoming the Chief Minister, Adhikari has flown to Delhi on several occasions and held meetings with many key leaders of the Central government, including the Union Health Minister, Union Home Minister and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Centre and the Bengal government for the implementation of the Ayushman Bharat Health Insurance Scheme in West Bengal.
The first BJP government in Bengal is swiftly moving on multiple fronts, ranging from border security and law enforcement to welfare schemes and infrastructure development.
A series of steps have been initiated, starting from the singing of ‘Vande Mataram’ and banning namaz on roads to introducing free bus travel for women and the Annapurna Yojana.
State Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Dilip Ghosh recently stated that all these steps were in public demand.
Adhikari recently said people have already started receiving the benefits of the announcements made by the BJP in its poll manifesto.
The West Bengal government is also undertaking a series of programmes across the state till June 21 to mark 12 years of the Narendra Modi government at the Centre.
Several outreach programmes have also been initiated.
