Mamata to meet selected party MLAs on Friday
According to party sources, the meeting is expected to take place at Kalighat, where Banerjee may hold one-on-one as well as group discussions with selected MLAs regarding organisational challenges, constituency-level feedback and the party’s future roadmap.
Sources in the ruling party said the leadership is keen to understand the ground situation across districts and identify areas where organisational intervention is required.
The proposed meeting is also being viewed as part of a broader strategy to strengthen the party’s grassroots presence and reconnect with voters.
Ahead of Banerjee’s likely meeting, several TMC legislators reportedly held a closed-door discussion in Kolkata.
During the meeting, MLAs are learnt to have discussed adopting a constituency-specific political approach instead of following any single unified operational plan across the state.
Party insiders claimed that many legislators believe local political realities differ significantly from one constituency to another and therefore individual representatives should be allowed to work according to the specific needs, concerns and expectations of their respective constituencies.
The development signals an evolving strategy within the Trinamool Congress, with greater emphasis being placed on local outreach, issue-based politics and rebuilding public confidence at the grassroots ahead of future political battles.
