BJP outlines vision for a “developed, prosperous and secure” West Bengal
In a post on X, Adhikari thanked the people of the state for their "overwhelming support" and said the new government would prioritise public service and inclusive development.
"The BJP's commitment is to a developed, prosperous and secure West Bengal. We are determined to fulfil our promises. Together with everyone, we will build a healthy, beautiful and developed state. Serving the people of the state will be the primary goal of the new government," he said.
Adhikari also expressed gratitude to voters for reposing faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, describing the mandate as a victory of "every nationalist and every BJP worker".
The BJP leader thanked the Election Commission, government officials, central forces, and personnel of the state and Kolkata Police for conducting the electoral process.
The BJP has secured 207 seats in the 293-member Assembly, decisively defeating the Trinamool Congress and ending its 15-year rule in the state.
While the party is yet to formally announce its chief ministerial face, senior leaders, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, had indicated during the campaign that the next chief minister would be a "son of the soil" from West Bengal.
