Bengal BJP Freezes New Inductions for Three Months, Tightens Discipline

PTI, May 16, 2026, Kolkata: Bengal BJP remains strict to its policy of prohibiting new inductions in the party as of now.

In an organisational meeting at a hotel in Salt Lake, it was decided that there will be no inductions in the BJP for the next three months.

The district leaders have been directed to ensure that nobody gets inducted in the BJP.

Party’s national general secretary Sunil Bansal during the meeting supported state party president Samik Bhattacharya’s view who had earlier stated that the party is not going to induct anybody from other parties.

Bansal has also given a clear message of ‘zero tolerance’ on the trouble mongers.

He also said that the party has to be careful so that nobody can extort money impersonating as BJP workers.

To ensure law and order, a special disciplinary committee will be formed in every district.

It was the first organisational meeting of the BJP after it came to power in Bengal.

State BJP President Samik Bhattacharya had earlier announced a “no joining” policy.

Union minister Sukanta Majumdar had also confirmed that the party has halted all new inductions until further orders, prohibiting newcomers from joining for a period of one to three months.
