WBSSC to issue recommendation letters for Special Education teachers

PTI, Apr 25, 2026, Kolkata: The West Bengal School Service Commission (WBSSC) will issue another batch of recommendation letters for the regularisation of Special Education Teachers on April 27, in compliance with directions of the Supreme Court of India and orders of the state government.

According to a notice, candidates have been asked to appear at the commission’s main office in Salt Lake at 12 noon. The letters will be issued to candidates currently working in Malda and Kolkata districts as part of the ongoing regularisation process under the state Samagra Shiksha Mission.

The move is part of a staggered process to regularise around 680 Special Educators who have been working under the programme for several years.

Earlier, on March 14 and 16, the commission issued recommendation letters to 95 candidates, followed by around 130 candidates in a subsequent phase on April 7 and 8. The April 27 phase will further add to the total number of regularised teachers.

Officials said the exercise is being carried out separately from the ongoing recruitment process for 1,941 posts of Special Education Teachers.
