DA Arrears File Reaches Nabanna, Clearance Awaited
According to sources in Nabanna, the documents were forwarded from Bikash Bhavan earlier this week after the School Education and Higher Education departments completed separate assessments of arrears. Data on individual entitlements — covering professors, teachers and non-teaching staff — had been collected from universities and institutions before being consolidated.
The proposal is now awaiting clearance from the Finance Department. Officials indicated that the next course of action will begin once the file receives the green signal.
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had earlier said that teachers, along with employees of panchayats, municipalities and aided institutions, were also entitled to DA.
Recent meetings at Nabanna between the Finance Department and other wings of the administration have helped clear some of the uncertainty.
