ED Officers Raid Carpenter's Residence in Bengal in Fake Passport Scam

Agencies, 3 Nov 2025, Kolkata: A team from the Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted a raid on Monday at the residence of a person in the Chakdah area of West Bengal’s Nadia district, in connection with a fake passport scam, a senior officer said. The accused, a carpenter, was allegedly involved in preparing fake passports, the officer added.

"Many of these passports were sent abroad. We are conducting a search and will also question this person," the officer stated.

In October, the ED had arrested a man named Indubhushan Haldar from Chakdah for allegedly assisting a Pakistani operative in obtaining passports for illegal Bangladeshi nationals, the officer explained. The carpenter's name came up during Haldar’s interrogation.
