NHIDCL Completes Hill Cutting at Setijhora on NH10, One-Way Traffic Resumes
KalimNews, Aug 7, 2025, Kalimpong : The National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) has successfully completed the hill cutting work at Setijhora on National Highway 10 (NH10), which had led to the temporary closure of the road since August 3. The road had been closed for repair work, with the initial closure period set for three days. However, the closure was extended for an additional three days, with the road reopening scheduled for August 8.
The hill cutting was a crucial step to ensure the safety and stability of the road at Setijhora, an area prone to landslides and other geological challenges. The NHIDCL implemented safety delineators along the stretch to ensure that traffic can now safely pass through the area.
With the repair work now completed, NH10 will allow one-way traffic starting from 6:30 PM on August 7. Authorities have assured that the road will remain open for vehicles in one direction only, as a temporary measure until full restoration is achieved.
Motorists are advised to remain cautious and follow the one-way traffic guidelines to prevent congestion and ensure safety. The road’s reopening will provide much-needed relief to travelers on the NH10 route, which connects key regions across the state.
