GTA Announces Admission for 2025-26 at Darjeeling Hill Institute of Technology & Management

KalimNews, Darjeeling, August 29, 2025 : The Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA) Department of Education has announced the opening of admissions for the newly established Darjeeling Hill Institute of Technology & Management at Takdah for the academic session 2025-26.

In a recent notification (Memo No. 849/IV-67/EDN/GTA/2025-26) dated August 28, 2025, the GTA invited applications from eligible candidates for admission under the GTA quota for various undergraduate courses in Engineering and Hotel Management & Catering Technology. The Darjeeling Hill Institute of Technology & Management, located at Hum Tukdah Khasmal, P.S. Rangli Rangliot, Darjeeling, offers an exciting opportunity for students from the region to pursue higher education in these key fields.

• Computer Science Engineering (CSE)

• Electrical Engineering (EE)

• Civil Engineering (CE)

• Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning (AI & ML)

Hotel Management & Catering Technology

Eligibility Criteria:

• Engineering Courses: Candidates must have completed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) with a minimum of 50% marks for General Category and 45% for SC/ST/OBC categories. Candidates must also submit their JEE/WBJEE Admit Card and Rank Card.

• Hotel Management & Catering Technology: Candidates must have completed 10+2 in any stream with a minimum of 50% marks for General Category and 45% for SC/ST/OBC categories.

Application Submission:

Applications should be addressed to the Executive Director, Education Department, GTA, Lowis Jubilee Complex, Darjeeling – 734101, and submitted along with the following documents:

• Self-attested Mark Sheets (Class 10 & 12)

• Admit Cards

• Residential Certificate (issued by the Sub-Divisional Officer)

• JEE/WBJEE Ranking & Score (for Engineering courses)

• Income Certificate (from the Block Development Officer for rural candidates and Sub-Divisional Officer for urban candidates)

• Other relevant certificates as per eligibility.

Important Dates:

• Last Date for Application Submission: Within 7 days from the date of publication of the notification.

• Incomplete Applications: Applications without the required documents or received after the deadline will not be entertained.
