Dr. Chandrachud Goswami Offers Free Voluntary Classes to Support Education Amid Teacher Layoffs in West Bengal
Don't Miss
Baby Chakraborty, KalimNews, April 8, 2025, Kolkata : In the wake of the recent Supreme Court verdict on corruption in employment, which led to the dismissal of around twenty-six thousand teachers in West Bengal, the education sector has been thrown into disarray. The unexpected job losses have resulted in a shortage of teachers in several schools, creating concerns about potential disruptions to students’ studies. In response to this crisis, Dr. Chandrachud Goswami, the State President of the Hindu Mahasabha, has stepped forward with a selfless offer to volunteer as a teacher.
Dr. Goswami has expressed his willingness to take classes in government schools and online, completely free of charge, in order to ensure that students' education is not hindered. He announced that he is available to teach all subjects up to the Madhyamik level, as well as biological science subjects for higher secondary and beyond, for two hours every day. His initiative aims to fill the gap created by the sudden reduction in the number of teachers, and he has called on the media to help connect students and their guardians to this opportunity, providing his contact details for those interested.
In a statement, Dr. Goswami emphasized the importance of merit in securing teaching positions. He expressed his belief that qualified individuals should not lose their jobs, as they earned their positions through hard work and merit. However, he also strongly advocated against allowing incompetent individuals to hold teaching jobs, particularly when such appointments are made through dishonest means, as this would jeopardize the future of students.
While the political landscape in the state remains tense following the Supreme Court ruling, Dr. Goswami’s offer stands out as an example of compassion and dedication to education. He has chosen to rise above the political turmoil and focus on the well-being of students, providing a humane and practical solution to a growing problem in the state’s educational system.
