Survey Shows Growing Trust in Mamata Banerjee, TMC Poised for Gains in Upcoming Elections

The survey, which was conducted rigorously across the country, reveals that Banerjee’s popularity has surged, particularly among those who admire her leadership skills and administrative experience.

The survey also highlights a promising outlook for her party, the Trinamool Congress (TMC), in the upcoming national elections. The report suggests that if the Lok Sabha elections were held today, the TMC would increase its seat count in Bengal from 29 to 30, while the BJP would not gain a single seat, remaining stuck at 12. In contrast, both the Congress and the CPM are expected to face further setbacks, with their positions in the state continuing to deteriorate.

The survey, conducted in August 2024 among prominent politicians, showed that Mamata Banerjee’s popularity has nearly doubled by the 2025 survey. This growing support indicates that many people in Bengal, and perhaps beyond, believe she is the leader with the experience and political acumen needed to lead the nation.

With Trinamool Congress currently holding 30 seats in the Lok Sabha, it is seen as only a matter of time before the party secures a dominant position in Bengal once again. Looking ahead to the 2026 assembly elections, many political analysts predict that the TMC could achieve a two-thirds majority in the state legislature, further solidifying Mamata Banerjee’s political influence in Bengal and across the country.

In stark contrast, the BJP is reportedly on a downward trajectory, with its seat count in Bengal expected to decline in the coming years. The survey results suggest that the political landscape in the state may continue to shift in favor of Mamata Banerjee and the TMC as her influence and trust among the people grow.
