Trinamool Congress Expels Several Leaders Over Alleged Breach of Discipline
Baby Chakraborty, KalimNews, December 20, 2024, Kolkata : The Trinamool Congress (TMC) has expelled several leaders for alleged anti-party activities and breaches of party discipline. Among those expelled is Manikar Mandal, vice president of the Trinamool Professors' Organization Web Cooper. Mandal, who also served as an executive council member at Kalyani University, has been removed from both his positions in the university and within the party.
In addition, Pritam Halder, executive president of the TMC's Secondary Teachers' Organization, has also faced expulsion. The party has also taken action against Tarun Tiwari, the former secretary of Yuva Trinamool. Tiwari was accused of creating a disturbance in the name of party leader Abhishek Banerjee, leading to a complaint filed by a businessman at the Posta police station. Subsequently, both Tiwari's expulsion and his arrest were confirmed. Youth Trinamool President and Member of Parliament Sayani Banerjee officially announced Tiwari's expulsion in a letter.
Furthermore, two leaders from the teachers' organization, Mani Shankar and Pritam, were also expelled following allegations of anti-party conduct. Bratya Basu, the president of the party's education wing, confirmed their expulsions. This series of expulsions underscores the party's firm stance on maintaining discipline within its ranks.
