Sikkim Tourism Minister Meets Nagaland Counterpart at Hornbill Festival 2024

IPR, Kohima, December 2, 2024 : The Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation, Government of Sikkim, Mr. Tshering Thendup Bhutia, met with the Minister of Tourism and Higher Education, Nagaland, Mr. Temjen Imna Along, at the Tourist Information Centre, Kisama, this evening.

Also present were Mr. Abu Metha, Advisor to the Chief Minister of Nagaland and Chairman, IDAN; Mr. C.S. Rao, Principal Secretary, Tourism Department, Government of Sikkim (GoS); Mr. Niraj Pradhan, Principal Chief Engineer, Tourism Department, GoS; Ms. Annapurna Alley, Secretary, IPR, GoS; Mr. Yougan Tamang, Press Secretary to the Chief Minister of Sikkim; Mr. Manoj Chettri, Deputy Director, Tourism Department, GoS; Mr. Sonam Norgay Lachungpa, President, Travel Agents Association of Sikkim (TAAS); and Ms. Yangchen Tongden Lepcha, Vice President, TAAS, along with other officials from the Tourism Department of Sikkim.

The Tourism Ministers of the two states discussed avenues for collaboration between Sikkim and Nagaland in promoting sustainable tourism, cultural exchange, and enhancing inter-state tourism initiatives.

Both Ministers highlighted the importance of fostering partnerships to leverage the unique cultural and natural assets of their respective states.

Earlier, Minister Mr. Tshering Thendup Bhutia visited the kiosk set up by the Tourism and Civil Aviation Department, Government of Sikkim, at the ongoing Hornbill Festival 2024.

During his interaction with the team, he commended their efforts in showcasing Sikkim’s tourism potential on such a prestigious platform and extended his best wishes for their continued success.
