Woman Found Dead Under Suspicious Circumstances in Siliguri, Husband Arrested

KalimNews, Siliguri, November 19, 2024: The body of a woman, identified as Dolly Das, was discovered under mysterious circumstances in the Shantipara area, under the jurisdiction of Bhakti Nagar police station, on Monday evening. The police have arrested her husband, Santosh Roy, in connection with the incident.

According to sources, Dolly and Santosh had been married for eight years and shared a child. However, their relationship was allegedly marred by frequent domestic violence.

On Monday, following a heated altercation during which Santosh reportedly assaulted Dolly, she left her husband’s house to seek refuge at her maternal home. Later in the day, Dolly returned to Shantipara to collect her child.

Tragically, by the evening, her family was informed of her death under unclear circumstances. They immediately contacted the Bhakti Nagar police, who arrived at the scene to recover her body.

Dolly’s body has been sent to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) for a post-mortem examination. Police are now investigating whether her death was the result of foul play or suicide.
