School teacher murdered in Mangan, buried in courtyard

DEEPAK SHARMA, EOI, MANGAN, NOVEMBER 23/, 2024 : In a shocking incident, a primary school teacher of a government senior secondary school in Mangan has been murdered and buried in the courtyard of his residence in the Upper Singhik ward of Ringhim Nampatam Grampanchayat unit. The body was found on Friday morning. The gruesome discovery was made during a local investigation by police officials with sniffer dogs. Authorities have sent the body for post-mortem to Gangtok on Saturday morning to ascertain the exact cause of death.
The police said the crime had been committed by an unidentified suspect and efforts were on to track him down. The Superintendent of Police of Mangan visited the scene of the crime with his team. The Block Development Officer of Mangan also visited the spot.
Following the murder, an alert has been issued and people living in solitary existence at their residence have been asked to be careful. Village guards have been asked to visit such individuals in the evening.
