Singh made these remarks yesterday before appearing at the CID office, sending shockwaves through the state’s political circles.

Adding weight to Singh’s allegations, BJP MP Shamik Bhattacharya today backed the former Barrackpore MP’s claim. When questioned about Singh's statement, Bhattacharya remarked, “Arjun Singh is a seasoned politician. He has faced numerous threats, especially since joining the BJP. His words are based on specific facts and evidence. His claim cannot be dismissed outright.”

Arjun Singh alleged that a conspiracy involving imported chemicals was being hatched to target key political figures in West Bengal. His comments have intensified the ongoing tensions between the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) and the BJP, with Singh implying that his life has been under constant threat due to his political affiliations and outspokenness.

Singh, who switched from TMC to BJP, has been at the center of several political controversies and clashes.
