In a letter addressed to Trump, the militant group indicated that while it is willing to accept a ceasefire, it insists that Israel must honor any such agreement. The conflict, which has raged for over a year, has resulted in significant loss of life and suffering, particularly in Gaza, where Israeli military forces continue their aggressive operations.

Hamas, which has heavily attacked Israeli targets throughout the conflict, including kidnapping numerous Israelis, now calls for an immediate ceasefire.
