Community Policing Corner and Police Archives set up in Kalimpong
Utilizing vacant space within the police station compound, a rest area has been constructed. This area aims to serve as a platform for open dialogue between citizens and the police, promoting transparency and collaboration. The facility also features various amenities to strengthen community policing efforts.
The newly inaugurated police archives preserve and exhibit historical documents and artifacts of significance to the history of Kalimpong. Highlights include the statue of Queen Victoria and items reflecting the cultural heritage of these hills.
DIG Darjeeling Range Joyeeta Bose and Kalimpong District Magistrate Balasubramanian T were present on the occasion. Bose emphasized the importance of community policing in fostering collaboration between the police and citizens, contributing to resolving local issues and enhancing the positive image of the police. Balasubramanian lauded the initiative of the police administration.
The community policing corner is equipped with a variety of educational books aimed at fostering dialogue and enhancing the knowledge base of both citizens and the police.
