Administrative Meet & Kartik Puja Inauguration Held in Hooghly; Children's Day Celebrated with Gifts

Baby Chakraborty, KalimNews, Hooghly, Nov 14, 2024 :  A significant administrative and press conference was held on Thursday in Hooghly, with a joint effort from the Sahaganj Banshberia Central Kartik Puja Committee, Chandannagar Police Commissionerate, Hooghly District Rural Police, and the Chunchura and Banshberia Municipalities. The event took place at the Keota Sahaganj Police Outpost ground and marked the inauguration of the Kartik Puja Guide Map.

The gathering also coincided with Children's Day, where small gifts were distributed to local children, and a special children's batch was handed out to the young participants. These gifts were provided to children from the area as well as to the volunteers of the Kartik Puja committees. Additionally, journalists present at the event were also given small tokens of appreciation.

The press conference was attended by key administrative and police officials, including Smita Sanyal Shukla, the Hooghly District Head Subdivision Administrator, DD Suman Chatterjee, ACP of the Chandannagar Police Commissionerate, Rameshwar Ojha, IC of Chunchura Police Station, and Jitu Shankar, Fire Department officer. A number of local MLAs, including Asit Majumder, MLA of Chunchura, and Tapan Dasgupta, MLA of Saptagram, were also present.

In his speech, Tapan Dasgupta highlighted the significance of the event, emphasizing that it was not just about Kartik Puja but also a Rasleela celebration, where various gods and goddesses are worshipped, making the occasion a grand, multifaceted event for the local community.

Other notable attendees included Amit Roy and Aditya Niyogi, Heads of the two Municipalities, and Shilpi Chatterjee, Deputy Head of Banshberia Municipality, along with the Puja Committee heads and numerous volunteers who play a vital role in organizing the festivities.

The event served as a platform for local leaders and authorities to share their thoughts and plans for the smooth and safe celebration of Kartik Puja in the region. After the initial welcome, the attendees took turns delivering speeches, reflecting the collaborative efforts of the community, local administration, and law enforcement to ensure a joyful and orderly celebration.
