Time limit for advance train booking reduced to 60 days: Indian Railways
Don't Miss
PTI & Agencies, NEW DELHI: The Railway Board has reduced the advance reservation period of seats from existing 120 days to 60 days with effect from November 1,2024.
Passengers will now be able to book their train tickets 60 days in advance, instead of the previous window of 120 days.
The new rule issued by the Indian Railways will reportedly come into effect from November 1, 2024, and will not impact the passengers who have already booked their tickets.
However, there will be no change in rules in the case of some day-time express trains, where a shorter time limit for advance reservation is currently applicable.
There also will be no change in the 365-day time period for foreign tourists.
This new policy aims to make it easier and more convenient for travelers to plan their trips closer to their departure dates.
